The central town axis, the north-south pedestrian communication, passes between the existing units of the bus terminal and the Konzum supermarket. The objective was to create a space strongly marked by urban features. The market hall building and the traffic-free square created by the pedestrian corridor in front of the building, pour in the south into a new urban square (the green market). The latter is located along the future street that will link Kolodvorska Str. and Radiceva Str.

The newly created urban centre generates the building through the pre-determined programme. The new southern square (the green market) transforms itself to the east into a ramp, by which the building grows into a new urban context.

The market hall building is very flexibly designed within the mentioned context, the purpose of which is to actualize this context to a maximum. The building is generated in a strict 7/7.5 m raster, and it consists of the ground floor, the basement and the first floor.

In architectural terms, the market hall building corresponds with the pedestrian zone. For that reason it is enriched on its western side with a shady porch and a number of outlets.

The first floor of the building contains pebbled atriums, the constructed ones and green ones, in alteration. Both the constructed and the unconstructed structure are oriented towards the common area of the square. Apart from the office facilities, it is desirable to use some of the space for public facilities, which would contribute to the liveliness on the first floor. The square on the first floor is linked with the central pedestrian zone on the ground floor by a staircase and an elevator, so as to allow access for the disabled. In this way the ramp and the public square on the first floor create an intensive communal entity in the south.

On the southern side the ramp-staircase and the elevator-staircase elements lean on the compact section of the building following the natural slope of the land plot. These elements make a strong connection between the pedestrian zone on the ground level and the square zone on the first level.
